The ultimate success of any business relies on the quality, integrity, and happiness of the team.

At The Riverhead, one of our key pillars is ‘To be the employer of choice’ in this region.

Our commitment to our people is to put our team first. We do that by providing you with skills, support, and ongoing learning to build a rewarding career in a unique and thriving business.

We work closely with Service IQ to offer apprenticeships for both Front of House and the Kitchen team, these apprenticeships are an ideal way to grow and develop your career in hospitality.

We have also partnered up with The Hospitality Company, who are helping us develop our managers and leaders to grow the business and encourage engagement amongst the team to achieve our vision.

Perks and Benefits

We are committed to paying a fair wage to all our team and topping this up with an incentive-based Performance Incentive Programme which every team member benefits from when targets are met. This is a transparent and inclusive way of involving everyone who is part of The Riverhead family in the success of the business.

We have very strong systems that support the team daily and encourage input to these systems to continually improve the processes and systems within the business.

We are interested in what motivates you as you grow and will work with you to help make this happen. It might be ongoing professional training, having more time off with your family or sport, or additional hours to help achieve a set monetary goal.

The business offers a significant discount for the team on their food and beverage.

PLUS more perks are coming soon.

In my two years working on and off at the Riverhead, I have met so many amazing people and had many laughs. The work environment there is unlike any other, with awesome staff and workmates who make you look forward to coming to work. They also really look after their staff and train them in stages, making it so much less overwhelming when starting a new job. I will always feel welcomed at The Riverhead, and have made so many life-long memories during my time working there.

Meet the Team

We’re proud of our team and we’d love for you to get to know them too.
Some of them have chosen not to be featured and we respect that.

Francie and Shadow

Francie is our superstar cleaner, and cat mum to Shadow (who you will often see sunbathing on the porch or waiting at the door for a pat).

Francie has been with us for almost 10 years. She loves to ride her Harley Davidson bike (how cool!) and she has a heart of gold.

She certainly keeps this place looking amazing!

Niesha

Niesha started here in 2018 as a kitchen hand, and she was quickly offered a role n the pastry section before becoming our Head Pastry Chef. She then went on to complete her Chef Apprenticeship in record time - it usually takes three years and Niesha did it in one.

And she didn’t stop there - in 2021 Niesha surprised us by moving to front of house and achieving her Managers Licence.

Watch this space to see what Niesha does next, once she sets herself a goal there’s no stopping her!

Cat

Many people will recognise Cat who is often seen in The Landing Restaurant.

She joined us before we even re-opened the doors 11 years ago. She has been with us through thick and thin, with her bright smile and authentic 'bon appétit'.

Thanks, Cat - it’s been an exciting journey!

Keeping in touch

You might see some familiar faces here over the summer - we often have team members who return during university holidays, or who lend a hand on a busy weekend.

Some have even left the country and returned years later - whatever the reason, we love to keep in touch with past team members.
