Our chef has developed a menu to suit all tastes and budgets. Whether you prefer tender top quality steak, gourmet pizza, or fresh gastro fare, it’s all available with an extensive wine list that features local product and specialties from New Zealand’s finest wine districts. Once again the décor celebrates the old, with clean and simple lines of the new, while the extensive decks surrounded by the 100 year old oak trees have the best view in the west. Copper Artwork and Sculptures.
One of the most memorable and talked about aspects of The Landing is the copper work designed and created by Garry Dunn, one of our oldest friends. Garry worked on the building renovation with us and made sure he kept a lot of the copper conduit and piping that he found as we excavated the old building. The chandelier was made from the original glycol unit that was trying to keep the beer cold without much success and is a stunning piece adorning the ceiling as you enter the restaurant to your right. Other designs from bits and pieces make up a copper rendition of our logo, the frame around the blackboard and the fireplace chimney and hearth. A restful wind indicator hangs in the tree directly off the lower decks made from Garry’s two favourite materials… copper and ferro cement. Garry also has on exhibit some of his own pieces that are either for sale or can be used as a starting point to commission your own design.
